Itinerary

DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN PARO | DRIVE TO THIMPHU Arrive in Paro and enjoy scenic views of the Himalayas. Receive a traditional Bhutanese welcome with a “Tashi Khaddar” and begin your drive to Thimphu. Along the way, visit the historic Tamchogg Lhakhang and light 108 butter lamps at an ancient monastery — a meditative offering symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance. Explore Thimphu’s landmarks, including the National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma, and Takin Preserve. Cultural Immersion: Butter lamp offering at the oldest monastery on the way to Thimphu.

 

DAY 02: IN THIMPHU Hike to the Tango Goenpa monastery, explore Bhutanese arts at the Zorig Chusum Institute, and visit the Centenary Farmers Market. Enjoy local Bhutanese cuisine at a traditional restaurant, and in the afternoon, visit the Voluntary Artists Studio.
